Communications Policy
Carrum Clinic endeavours to provide patients with timely appointments over the telephone.
Practice triage system is used to prioritise appointments.
Patients will be identified using 3 approved identifiers.
Staff are mindful of confidentiality and the patients right to privacy.
The practice uses fax as the main communication tool.
Patients are reminded that communication by electronic means is not always secure and email will not be used for clinical matters except with patient consent.
Reminders are occasionally sent via SMS but these messages contain no medical or identifying information.
Patients with special needs can have access to National Relay Service, Auslan and Translation and Interpreter Service
